Daily Trust Saturday visited the town established in 1824 as the first capital of Gombe Emirate established in 1804 after the Jihad, and reports on how the historical town was neglected. The states in Nigeria inhabited by Fulani includes some areas in the North namely: Gombe is a Fulani state located in northeastern Nigeria and shares boundaries with Borno, Yobe, Taraba and Adamawa states respectively. He was the eldest son of Emir Abdullahi Bayero. They move from one place to the other and are mostly cattlemen moving around looking for pastures to feed their cows, sheep, goats and rams. The state was formed in April 1996 and has over 4.25 million residents. The Governor in a statement that was issued by his senior media aide, Ismaila Uba Misilli, stated that the State has indeed lost one of its finest traditional rulers: who worked relentlessly with other royal fathers in the state and offered counsels and fatherly guidance for the peace, unity, growth, and development of the state in particular and Nigeria as a whole.
